How to Develop Reality-Bending Confidence
Napoleon’s Win-or-Win Mentality
napoleon bonaparte famously had a coin.
before some of the most important battles, he gathered his entire army, raised the coin high in the air… and declared he was going to place the outcome in the hands of god.
“if it lands on heads, we retreat. the heavens do not favour us.”
“but… if it lands on tails, it means god is with us… and we charge into the gunfire.”
and somehow, every time he threw it… it landed on tails.
his soldiers, fueled by the belief that they had divine backing, fought with absolute conviction… and not once, as he did this, did they fail.
it was only after napoleon’s death that the coin was found…
and the truth revealed itself.
it never had heads to begin with.
it had tails on both sides.
there was no chance of losing.
“in war, the moral is to the physical as three is to one.”
-Napoleon Bonaparte
DOUBT: THE VENOM OF THE MIND
whenever you step into something new… a new job, a new relationship, a new business…
you are always accompanied by this quiet little voice.
“you’re not ready for this.”
“she’s out of your league, bro.”
“find yourself a real job…”
it comes slowly, almost innocently… but as subtle as it is, it can be incredibly seductive.
it doesn’t scream. it whispers. straight into your ear.
and that’s exactly why it’s so dangerous.
you know that, i know that. we’ve been dealing with it for years… but have you ever stopped to realize where it even comes from?
see… you might be the most talented, competent, and hard-working mf alive, and still be guaranteed to hear these voices of self-doubt at some point along the way.
and the greatest mistake you can make… is coming to the conclusion that it comes from you.
you internalize it… you let it permeate on an emotional level… and you charge it with conviction until it becomes truth.
because what is truth?
belief = truth.
your subconscious mind can make sense of even the most irrational doubts imaginable.
and in most cases… they are irrational.
the truth of the matter is, that initial wave of self-doubt is nothing but your subconscious mind holding onto the old identity… while you’re trying to step into something new.
whenever your old “frequency” feels threatened, it sends a signal… a warning.
it’s a common defense mechanism.
the same way your body reacts when it sees a tiger… it doesn’t think, it reacts. it tries to protect you.
the only thing your subconscious is interested in is keeping things as they are.
to maintain the status quo… to preserve the energetic balance.
but… does it serve you?
because in this world… whatever does not serve you is only there to control you.
and if you give in to self-doubt, it can have tremendous control over the trajectory of your life…
the most praised virtue in all spiritual and religious traditions is having faith.
but what most people fail to realize is that doubt is the exact polar opposite of it.
and it has killed more dreams than any obstacle or failure ever could.
and i’ll show you exactly why…
YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND SPEAKS BEFORE YOU’VE EVER SPOKEN
the problem with doubt is that it uses against you the greatest weapon at your disposal: imagination.
it begins by sending little signals… small thoughts you start to follow without even realizing it… until it slowly pulls you into the trap.
and the trap is… your own mind.
you begin to feed it… enhancing it with all the possible scenarios.
what can go wrong.
how it will fall apart.
what people will think…
and what’s worse: at some point, you stop only thinking it… and you start to feel it as if it’s already true.
what starts as a small thought… turns into a fcking storm.
your subconscious mind does not see the difference between reality and imagination.
when an imagined scenario is vivid enough and carries emotional weight… it’s processed as if it actually happened in physical reality.
that’s how even the most irrational fears can come to fruition.
you literally trick your subconscious mind into believing something is real… and it later materializes that assumption in the physical world through your unconscious behaviour.
but, as with everything, there’s a flip side to it…
you can also trick your subconscious mind into believing that everything is in your favour.
that reality is rigged.
that the universe conspires to give you exactly what you want.
just like napoleon fueled the minds of his soldiers with irrational confidence.
chosen-by-god type of confidence…
WIN OR WIN MENTALITY
speaking of napoleon… this man combined thought and action to such a degree that it almost seemed to defy reality itself.
and in the process, he built mental frameworks that we can actually learn from.
you see… outside of being a great general and strategist, napoleon was also an engineer.
an engineer of the minds of people.
he was an incredible orator who could tap directly into the sense of pride and destiny of his soldiers.
a true showman who constantly cultivated his carefully created apperance everywhere he could.
he commissioned poems, paintings, and sculptures to depict him as this larger-than-life, almost divine figure.
he controlled the press, media, basically the whole flow of information… shaping perception in his favour.
this man literally conditioned both himself and his environment into believing he was destined for greatness.
many would call him a propagandist, which, in fact, he was. but it all served one purpose:
to give both himself and his soldiers the “proof” to feed their faith on.
and this is exactly what we can learn from napoleon.
of course, you’re not going to control the media or commission statues of yourself…
but what you can , and what you should, is constantly give your mind something to follow.
small signals.
small pieces of “evidence.”
and they don’t have to be physical.
as we already said: your subconscious mind does not see the difference between reality and imagination.
so use that. trick your subconscious mind into believing that everything you ever wanted is… real.
constantly see yourself the way you want to be seen.
your inner self. your outerself.
dwell in that reality.
instill in yourself the confidence that it already happened…
and sooner or later… it will be so.
